How To Handle A Mail Item Which is Not For You?

An Incoming Mail Not Intended For You...

  • When no such person is at your address, please write "No such person" on the envelope.
  • When the addressee has moved, please write "Moved" and the forwarding address, if known, on the envelope.
  • When you receive a wrongly delivered mail item, please write "Incorrect location" on the envelope.

And Return to Hongkong Post through

  • Dropping it in any street posting box; or
  • Handing it over to our counter staff at any post office; or
  • Dropping it in the Return Letter Box set up by your building management, if any.

When addressing a mail item locally and overseas, please remember the following points:

  • Name of recipient
  • Flat and floor numbers
  • Name of building (if available)
  • Number and name of street or road
  • Name of village, town or district in CAPITAL LETTERS
    (For local mail, the area, i.e. Hong Kong, Kowloon or New Territories should also be written)
  • The postal district number, postal code or Zip code, if any *
  • Name of country , state or province in CAPITAL LETTERS *

* For overseas mail only

Please put the name and address of the sender on the back of the envelope to enable early return of mail if un-delivered.
