Special Stamp Issue - "Centenary of the Birth of Deng Xiaoping" and Sale of Overseas Philatelic Products
The Postmaster General, Mr. Allan CHIANG, announced today (16 August 2004) that Hongkong Post, China Post and Macau Post will each issue on 22 August 2004 a set of two special stamps and a stamp sheetlet to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Deng Xiaoping. A souvenir pack containing the special stamps and stamp sheetlets issued by the three postal administrations will also be issued.
On the same day, philatelic products issued by the postal administrations of Australia, Canada, Macau, New Zealand, Singapore, United Nations and the United States will also be put on sale at the 39 philatelic offices. Moreover, customers may purchase these overseas philatelic products at Hongkong Post Internet Shopping Mall at Website (http://www.shopping.hongkongpoststamps.com).
On 22 August 2004, the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office and Airport Post Office will open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as on normal Sundays. All other post offices (except mobile post offices) will open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
