The Postmaster General, Mr. Allan CHIANG announced today (24 August 2004) that the Postal Remittance Service will be extended to Indonesia and Nepal with effect from 26 August 2004.
"With the launch of this reciprocal postal remittance service with the postal administrations of Indonesia and Nepal, customer can remit a maximum amount of USD2,000 each time to Nepal and Indonesia. This service will be available in Hong Kong at all 132 post offices including the two mobile post offices. With over 200 post offices in Indonesia and 70 post offices in Nepal offering remittance service, our extended Postal Remittance Service is an economical and convenient way for the public to send money to their families, friends and trading partners in these two countries," said Mr. CHIANG.
"Through the continuous expansion of its network, our Postal Remittance Service is now available to Mainland China, Canada, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia and Nepal. This illustrates our commitment to provide better quality of service and greater convenience to our customers," Mr. CHIANG added.
