Inspiring stamps to recognise Hong Kong's Creative Industries
Hongkong Post issued today (28 June 2005) "The 600th Anniversary of Zheng He's Maritime Expeditions" Special Stamps. At a ceremony held in the morning at the General Post Office, Mr. Allan CHIANG, Postmaster General, Mr. XIE Xiao-yan, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Mr. Carlos Alberto Roldao LOPES, Board Chairman of Macao Post marked the issue of the special stamps by erecting the sails printed with images of stamps issued by China Post, Hongkong Post and Macao Post respectively. As a memento of the occasion, Mr. CHIANG presented to Mr. XIE, Mr. LOPES and Mr. Carl CHENG, designer of these special stamps, framed stamps and first day covers.
