The Postmaster General, Mr. Allan CHIANG, announced today (12 Sept) that there would be no mail delivery during the coming public holiday on 19 September 2005 (The day following Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival). All post offices would be closed. However one mail collection would be arranged for all posting boxes except those located on outlying islands and in remote areas.
Mr. CHIANG added that on Sunday, 18 September 2005 (The Mid-Autumn Festival), the General Post Office, the Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office and the Airport Post Office will open for business under the usual Sunday arrangements from 9 am to 2 pm. However, no mail collection from posting boxes will be provided.
