Hongkong Post to participate in the China Philatelic Association - 60th Anniversary Stamp Exhibition
The Postmaster General, Mr. Allan CHIANG, announced today that Hongkong Post will be participating in the China Philatelic Association 60th Anniversary Stamp Exhibition, which is to be held from 7 to 14 January 2006 at the Exhibition Hall, 6/F, Sheung Wan Civic Centre, 345 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong.
The objective of the exhibition, organised by the China Philatelic Association, is to celebrate its 60th anniversary and promote stamp collecting to members of the general public. Admission is free and all are welcome. The opening hours of the exhibition are 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on 7 January, 10:00 am to 7:00 p.m. from 8 to 13 January and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 14 January.
"We are delighted to support this meaningful exhibition and to encourage the public to participate in the exciting world of philately," said Mr. CHIANG. "Hongkong Post will display artwork of the "Year of the Dog" special stamps at the exhibition venue and issue an official souvenir cover, together with a special postmark, to commemorate the event."
The souvenir cover at $2 will be available for sale at the 39 philatelic offices from 24 December 2005 to 7 January 2006. A hand-back datestamping service using the special postmark will be available at all philatelic offices on 7 January 2006. The cover's image and specimen impression of special postmark are reproduced as attached.
