No mail delivery on January 2

The Postmaster General, Mr. Allan CHIANG, announced today (28 December) that there would be no mail delivery during the coming public holiday on 2 January 2006 (the day following the first day of January). All post offices would be closed. However, one mail collection would be arranged for all posting boxes except those which are located on outlying islands and in remote areas.

Mr. CHIANG added that on Sunday, 1 January 2006 (the first day of January), the General Post Office, the Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office and the Airport Post Office will open for business under the usual Sunday arrangements from 9 am to 2 pm. However, no mail collection from posting boxes will be provided.
