A set of special stamps entitled "Heartwarming II" would be issued on November 28 and the "Heartwarming Stamps Customised Service II" would be available on the same day, the Postmaster general, Mr Tam Wing-pong, announced today (November 21).
Commenting on this special stamp issue, Mr Tam said stamps were an effective medium for conveying messages of "Love and Care" and "Celebrations. "The Heartwarming Stamps (HWS) Customised Service adds a special touch, in that personalised photographs, messages of happiness or company logos can be tagged to these stamps," he said.
Riding on this theme and to further demonstrate a caring culture in the local community, Hongkong Post will set aside part of the sales revenue from Heartwarming Stamps Customised Service II with a maximum of $200,000 depending on the sales, for promoting love and care in the community. The money can be used for helping needy children at Christmas and the elderly at Chinese New Year.
"By using this customised service, not only are customers creating thoughtful and memorable keepsakes, they are also helping to contribute to those less fortunate in our society," Mr Tam said.
Further information about this issue and the associated philatelic products can be obtained from Hongkong Post's website at www.hongkongpost.com, at any post office, or by calling the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau hotline 2785 5711.
