Hongkong Post held today (June 11) the "Jellyfish" Special Stamps - New Stamp Ceremony at Ocean Park, officiated by Chairman of Ocean Park Hong Kong, Dr Allan Zeman, and Postmaster General, Mr Tam Wing-pong.
The "Jellyfish" special stamps depict six species of jellyfish. For the first time, the stamps are printed with a luminous effect to juxtapose the gorgeous jellyfish against a contrasting dark background. This set of special stamps will be put on sale at all post offices from Thursday, June 12, 2008.
On the same occasion, Hongkong Post was "appointed" by the two giant pandas, Ying Ying and Le Le, to produce stamp products in order to raise funds to support the reconstruction of the giant pandas' habitats on the Mainland. The money raised will support the rebuilding of panda facilities in Sichuan through the "Sichuan Earthquake Relief Giant Panda Base Rebuilding Fund" set up by the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong.
