The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data is an independent office established by the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (“the Ordinance”) to enforce and promote compliance with its requirements.  Applications are now invited for the following posts in the Privacy Commissioner’s Office: -

Personal Data Officer (PDO)

Remuneration

Basic salary at $36,535 per month plus fringe benefits. 

Requirements 
a) A recognised degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent;
b) Solid exposure in complaint investigation, legal practice, data system inspection, process control compliance audit, and/or security risk assessment;
c)  A minimum of 4 years relevant working experience, preferably gained in reputable regulatory agencies, legal firms, audit consultancy firms or international corporations;
d)  Strong analytical and inter-personal skills with a mature personality;
e) Knowledge of the requirements of the Ordinance or personal data privacy matters preferable; and
f) Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Major Duties

a) To handle complaint investigations with a view to enforcing the provision of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance; or
b)
To undertake examination, inspection, standard assurance and compliance audit of personal data systems of organizations.

Part-Time Helper  

Remuneration

Basic salary at $57 per hour


Requirements
 
a) A diploma or above;
b) Good interpersonal skills; and
c) Basic knowledge of Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

Major Duties

The part-time helper will provide on-site support in the Education & Careers Expo 2009 during the period of 19 – 22 February 2009 (8-9 working hours per day) for: -
a) distributing information booklets; 
b) playing game and quiz with visitors; and
c) handling public enquiries on the spot.
